Jomsom & Muktinath trek

The name itself Jomsom Muktinath Trek states the highlight places of the trek. We trek in the Mustang region and also trek along the world’s deepest gorge situated in the Kali Gandaki River. The highest trekking point of our trek is 3800m (12,464ft) and almost throughout the trek we are able to see the two eight thou sanders peaks; Annapurna I and Dhaulagiri. We visit antique monasteries, caves as well as the local communities and the people living there. We observe their livelihood activities and relish the opportunity to see such amazing natural landscapes. We begin our trek from the Kali Gandaki Region and on the way we experience the vegetation less nature, rocky paths both leading uphill as well as downhill. We enjoy the superb views of peaks like Nilgiri, Annapurna and many more.

During the beginning days of the trek, we pass through rice terraces of the Annapurna region as we trek to higher altitude. We also see the villages present there with Gurung people. In Tatopani we let go our fatigue and pain as we enjoy the natural hot water present there. Then we trek to Mustang region preceding the famous places Jomsom and Kagbeni on the way. As we trek upwards to Muktinath (3800m/12,464ft) we begin to see the vista of Dhaulagiri Glacier. This holy temple has 08 waterfalls and mind boggling natural gas fires. We descend down to Jomsom on the Tibetan plateau and from there we can inspect the “Forbidden Kingdom of Mustang” and we also get the vision of the primitive heritage which are still believed as well as followed. Then via a flight from Jomsom we get back to Pokhara and then drive to Kathmandu as the trek concludes.
